ARTICLE POLICY & RETRACTION

Article Policy

The Medisch Recht Journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

The journal implements a double-blind peer review process, ensuring an objective and unbiased evaluation. Manuscripts are assessed based on originality, scholarly contribution, methodological rigor, and relevance to health law and medical law.

Authors are required to:

  • Ensure originality and proper citation of all sources
  • Avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, and falsification
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest
  • Comply with the journal’s ethical and submission standards

The editorial board reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not meet these criteria.

Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts submitted to the journal will be screened using Turnitin plagiarism detection software.

  • The similarity index must be below 20%
  • Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be:
    • Rejected immediately, or
    • Returned to the author for revision

Any indication of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, will result in rejection or retraction, depending on the stage of publication.

Generative AI Policy

The journal acknowledges the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools (e.g., ChatGPT or similar technologies) in academic writing with strict limitations.

  • AI tools may be used only for language assistance or minor editing
  • AI must not be used to generate:
    • Original research content
    • Data analysis or interpretation
    • Scientific conclusions

Authors must:

  • Fully disclose any use of AI tools in the manuscript (e.g., in acknowledgments or methods section)
  • Take full responsibility for the content, accuracy, and integrity of the manuscript

AI tools cannot be listed as authors under any circumstances.

Author Contributions (CRediT Taxonomy)

The journal adopts the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) to ensure transparency in author contributions.

Each author must clearly state their contribution, including but not limited to:

  • Conceptualization
  • Methodology
  • Formal Analysis
  • Investigation
  • Writing – Original Draft
  • Writing – Review & Editing
  • Supervision
  • Funding Acquisition

All listed authors must have made significant contributions and approve the final version of the manuscript.

Retraction Policy

Retraction serves to correct the scholarly record and inform readers of invalid publications.

An article may be retracted if:

  • Plagiarism or redundant publication is detected
  • Data fabrication or falsification is proven
  • Ethical violations occur
  • Significant errors invalidate the findings

Retraction decisions follow COPE guidelines. A retraction notice will be issued and linked to the original article.

Correction Policy

The journal supports transparency through corrections:

  • Minor errors → corrected without formal notice
  • Major errors → published as erratum or corrigendum

All corrections will be clearly documented.

Withdrawal Policy

Authors may withdraw manuscripts before publication with valid justification.

Withdrawal after peer review or acceptance is strongly discouraged and may result in sanctions if done unethically.

Publication Ethics Statement

The Medisch Recht Journal adheres to internationally recognized standards, including the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), to ensure integrity, transparency, and accountability in scholarly publishing.
